Almost done!

Last night Cory and I had the capstone dinner for his Executive MBA program. I can't believe he's down to his last three months (hallelujah!!) It's been a busy two years but he's loved the program so it's made it all worth it. I'm so proud of him and all his hard work juggling the program, work, and our family, and he does it all so well! He's tried very hard, and I'd say succeeded, to still be present as much as possible so he can be around and involved with the kids and I, even with how busy he's been. We'll be glad to have all our weekends and nights back with him! ❤

Luke just said to me, "So, you were born in like, the 1900s?"
I said, "yes."
And then all the kids in carpool went quiet for a minute, apparently processing this 🤣. I feel old!

Visiting Grandma Jojo

Last night we went to Jojo's house for Sunday dinner. The kids love visiting her and couldn't believe when I told them she is 79 years old. They told me she looks like she's in her sixties. I told Jojo that and I'm sure it made her night 😀. I told the kids it's all the vitamins she takes 😉. Luke is already almost as tall as her! She is really cute with the kids. She's one spunky and fun great grandma.

Luke's 9th Birthday

This cute boy is NINE today! Not such a little guy anymore, but to me he will always be our little Lukey guy. He is kind, loving, funny, smart, determined, and has such a good heart. Lately he has developed an independent streak that makes me a little nervous for the teenage years to come. He will drop anything to help me with the babies. He has the loudest voice and is always moving/running (at home) and is on the quiet side and perfectly behaved (at school). I love thinking back to the day he made me a mom ❤. What a special boy he is and I'm so grateful he's part of our family.

Santa Luke at Halle's 7th birthday party

Tonight we had Halle's 7th birthday party. I'd say it was a success! She had some fun ideas and I tried to make it all happen, including a special appearance from Luke that was quite hilarious and fun.

It was a pajama party/pizza party. We painted nails, watched a fun movie, and made these cupcake creations Halle saw on a YouTube channel where you make cupcakes that look like a hamburger and French fries. And then, there was the Santa visit.

Here's where that idea came from.  For probably six months Luke and Halle have been talking about an idea where Luke comes to Halle's birthday party dressed as Santa and passes out presents to her friends. At first I thought the idea was just kind of funny and that it would pass, but they kept talking about it as her birthday got closer, and then I remembered Dixie had a Santa costume so I thought, why not? Why wouldn't we incorporate Santa into an August birthday party? But really, I figured the kids would love it and it was something different, so we went for it! Luke had a lot of fun with it, along with his friend Brennan who dresses up as an elf, and the girls LOVED it. They were all laughing hysterically. It was the highlight of the night. Here's some pictures from the party

Today we went and got new PJs for the party. Luke got some new Star Wars pj pants :).

The finished cupcakes!

A visit from a very jolly and silly Santa. The girls thought it was hilarious.
