Once there was a snowman

Last week Luke went out all bundled up to play in the snow. This is the first time I have had all the gear to just let him go out and have at it. He had a great time. Cory went out with him and they built snowmen. Well, Cory pretty much built them (he got pretty into it) while Luke trotted along behind him having fun scrunching the snow and trying to run in it. They turned out pretty good (and big!) I must admit!

Lightning McQueen Boots

So I took Luke shopping for snow gear last week. We went to try on boots and the first ones we came across were some Cars (Lightning McQueen) boots. He LOVES cars, so it probably was a mistake for me to have him try those ones on first. He tried them on and was so excited! Now, as you can see they are kind of hideous and I saw some cute brown leather ones with some fluffy sheepskin looking lining for the same price and thought, much better! So I told him it was time to try on the next pair and he yelled "noooooo!" and started running off and crying! Like, seriously crying with real tears and all and the saddest look on his face. He loved those boots! Luckily my sister was with me so I had her chase him down. And you guessed it, I decided to let him get his Lightning McQueen boots. I tried get him to let me take them off to put back in the box so we could buy them but that wasn't going to fly so I had the cashier scan the box and let him wear them out of the store! It beats a temper tantrum in the middle of Kohls. He loves these boots and wears them all the time. Even over pajamas. I can tell he feels very cool wearing them which makes me glad I caved in for the semi-hideous tacky looking boots, the kind I swore I would never buy my child, but he loves them and to see him get so excited like this is really cute, so I guess I'm glad we ended up with the Lightning McQueen boots after all. :)

Luke loves his stuffed animals

Luke loves his stuffed animals. I went in to check on him the other night when he was sleeping and found him asleep with his arm around this favorite stuffed animal "tiger" (we call him tiger but he is really supposed to be a cheetah I think...it became tiger when he was a tiger his first Halloween and he liked to make the tiger noise and it stuck).

He also loves piglet and loved tucking piglet in this day.

The beginnings of our first house

We bought a lot in Riverton a couple months back and yesterday we broke ground and the hole was dug. We drove out to watch for a little bit because I figured Luke would love seeing the tractor digging the hole, and of course he did. So here is a picture of us by our hole!

Halloween 2009

We had a good Halloween. Luke was Thomas and Halle was a flower. They were both so cute in their little costumes. Luke was very proud of his Thomas outfit.

Halloween was on a Saturday this year so Friday Cory's work had a Halloween trick or treat for the kids so I took the kids up to his work all dressed up and Luke trick or treated around to the desks at Goldman. At the first he wasn't so sure about it but he caught on quick and had lots of fun going around and gathering candy in his little trick or treat basket.

Saturday we had our friends Mark and Nicole bring their two girls over earlier in the night and we ate pizza and had the kids paint pumpkins. Then they left and Cory took Luke trick or treating around the neighborhood. Luke really liked trick or treating! His first year doing it and he caught on real quick!

Luke was a little sad when I was taking down our Halloween decorations. He especially likes this witch that spins around and eyes light up and cackles when you clap your hands. It's a really scary looking thing so I'm surprised he likes it so much. When we went to put that away he started crying and got really upset so the witch is actually still out on our fireplace! Hopefully we can sneek it away soon!

Here is Luke with the scary witch he likes so much next to him!

Luke and the wedding video

Luke loves watching our wedding video. It's one of his favorite movies right now. We went through about a week where it was all he would watch. It's really cute, he smiles and laughs and whenever Cory and I kiss in it he smacks his lips and makes the kissing sound. He likes seeing all the people he recognizes on it and I think he loves to see mommy and daddy laughing and kissing and such!

Luke and the peanut butter jar

Luke loves to get the peanut butter jar out of the cupboard. I usually catch him before he can get into too much trouble with it but this time Cory and I were talking and not paying close enough attention and the next thing we look over to see this. Messy peanut butter Luke! Now I keep the peanut butter jar in the cupboard above the fridge out of reach of Lukie!

Hair cut time

Here I am giving Luke a hair cut. We have to put him in his high chair so he won't escape, turn on a movie, give him a couple toys, and hope for the best! He did pretty good this time.

Driving cars over sister

Luke likes to put his cars on Halle and let them roll off her tummy. He thinks this is very entertaining.

Halloween fun!

We had a fun Halloween night which I called our Halloween extravaganza. We invited uncle Jason to join in. We had dinner, carved pumpkins, watched "Hocus Pocus", and made Halloween cookies. It was lots of fun and Luke loved all the Halloween festivities.

At the Zoo

Last week there was really nice day so we met grandma and aunt Jamie at the zoo. Luke loved seeing all the animals. His favorite part of all was the train ride we did at the very end. At first he wasn't so sure about it and was a little scared, but by the end he was loving it and didn't want to get off.

Leaves are made for jumping!

Sunday my aunt and uncle Ron and Melodee had a Halloween family party at their house and we got the kids all dressed up in their Halloween costumes - Luke is Thomas and Halle is a flower. Luke is very proud of how he looks in his Thomas outfit which is great because for some reason after loving the outfit at the store he was terrified of putting it on when I brought it home. But luckily last week we made a breakthrough and he now will not only wear it but loves it.

Luke loves being outside and immediately zoned in on my aunt and uncle's backyard and the gigantic pile of leaves they had back there. I avoided taking him out because it was cold, but soon enough he got my mom to take him out. We went out to find him jumping and rolling around in the leaves, having an absolute ball. I'm glad my mom gave in and took him out, it doesn't get much cuter than this.
