Lots of diapers

One of our neighbors did a diaper and wipes shower for me and a couple of the other moms in the ward who are expecting. And now we have lots and lots of diapers and wipes to get us started for our twins on the way!

Family photos

We took some family photos over the weekend. I am about 5 months pregnant with the twins in these. Probably our last family photos as a family of four! It was a bit of a challenge to get Luke to sit still and take a few photos of him by himself, he was running around and acting silly and making silly faces. But luckily we still got some good ones of him.

Fun at the zoo

Today we went to the zoo with Grandma Lori, Grandpa Sheldon, and aunt Jamie and had a fun time! It was a nice warm September day. Afterward Luke and Halle got to go home with grandma and grandpa and have a sleepover.

At the zoo Luke LOVES taking photos of animals. He took about 100 of them. His favorite animal was the giant turtle - he thinks it is super cool. We call him our little nature photographer.

Pregnant costume?

In our conversation over breakfast the kids were giving me all sorts of suggestions of what I can be for Halloween with my "big pregnant tummy"...pumba, the marshmallow man, jabba the hut...and they weren't laughing, these were sincere suggestions. Needless to say I'm feeling really cute this morning .

Fall ball

These cute kiddos had fun playing on the same baseball team this fall and we had a lot of fun watching them! Grandma Lori and Grandpa Sheldon were able to come to a lot of the games which was fun.

Luke has really become quite a slugger and hits the ball every time. He would play in a position in the outfield like short stop or one of the bases where he would catch and throw the ball a lot and did really well at it.

Hopefully we'll get the chance for them to play on the same team again!

Jog a thon and crazy hair day

Today Luke had a jog a thon for his school fundraiser he was very excited for. It was also crazy hair day! Of course Halle wanted to do her hair crazy along with Luke this morning :).

Halle wanted to help me cheer on Luke in the jog a thon so I picked her up from preschool early and we went and cheered him on as he ran his laps to earn money for his school. It was hot outside but he still ran hard and did great! Fun day!

Sweet boy

A month or so ago Luke came home from church and have me this sweet card he made me.

I love how he drew a picture of me and him holding hands :). I have had it sitting out on my counter in the kitchen up on display ever since.

Also, one day in the summer I told the kids we could have a craft day and we went to Hobby Lobby and I let them each pick two wooden things to paint. One of the things Luke picked he didn't want me to see and kept it hidden. When we got home he still kept it secret and even when he was painting it he had to set a folder up to block my view so I wouldn't see what he was doing. When he was finished he was very proud to give me this wooden heart. I thought it was so sweet that when he saw that heart at Hobby Lobby he thought of me and chose to have that be one of the things he would buy and paint it for me. I loved it and was so pleased. I have also had this heart sitting out on my counter next to the note he wrote me for a month or so. Love my sweet boy.

Mother/son date "knight"

Luke and I went to the mother/son date "knight" at chick-fil-a tonight and had a great time. We went last year also and had fun so we decided to do it again. It's a knight theme and there was a magician and jousting lessons after dinner. We had a fun time and I had fun spending time with my special boy!

Best brother and sister

Tonight I was trying to get the kids to bed but they wanted to get out some paper and markers and make each other "surprises" first. They had been playing together extra cute and nicely all day. So I gave in. When they were done they proudly gave each other these..Halle worked hard on coloring this Doc McStuffins picture for Luke and Luke gave Halle this note. He said it is for her to remember him when he's at school tomorrow and that every smartie is worth 1000 hugs (I think being apart now all day from each other has been an adjustment for them). They both loved what they had made for each other. Melted my heart. I was glad I gave in and let them stay up 15 minutes longer. It's nice to be reminded that as much as they torment and tease each other they are still best little friends and love each other ❤️. Love my sweet kiddos more than anything.

Special Agent Luke

Luke got mad at Halle and was sent to his room. A few minutes later I was doing dishes and looked down to find a little note he had written right at my feet. I had no idea how he had snuck out and put the note there. A few minutes later there was another note delivery..but this time we figured out his method of delivery. At least this little dog t shirt the kids begged me to get for Milly could come in handy for something :). Cory and I thought it was so funny, cute and clever. What a smart kid we have!

Lake Powell

We went to Lake Powell over Labor Day weekend and had a great time! The weather was nice and I was feeling better this time being over the pregnancy sickness. The kids had lots of fun as usual and loved playing on the beach, fishing, paddle boarding, and Luke even tried wake surfing for the first time with Daddy! The highlights of the trip for me were watching Luke and Halle paddle board around the bay together playing so nicely together, and when they both wanted to try wake surfing and got up easily the first try with Cory and did a great job! We have little fish on our hands and I'm glad they enjoy the water and being at the lake so much.
