Parent teacher conferences - smart boy!

We had parent teacher conferences for Luke this week. It was a lot of fun for Mommy and Daddy and Halle to go with Luke and hear from his teacher about how well he is doing, what a smart boy he is, and how he is such a good student! Luke was very proud of himself and was excited to take us to parent teacher conferences all day. He is ahead in every category and got perfect scores all around. What a smart boy. We are so proud of our boy and so grateful he loves school and works so hard at it!

Cutest brother and sister

These two are the cutest little friends. They were playing extra cute tonight, playing for about two hours straight without any little tiffs. They had probably about thirty stuffed animals and dolls all set up that were their "babies" and they were playing mommy and daddy. Then they had me record a video of me singing "silent night" on my phone that they could play for their babies for a lullaby to put them to sleep.

After awhile they ran in and told me that for Christmas they want rings they can give each other so they can get married. Oh so cute. They haven't talked about marrying each other for awhile...I think they both have kind of caught on that brothers and sisters don't marry each other. But I thought it was so cute that after they played together for so nicely tonight that they were back to thinking that. So sweet and innocent.

I love these kiddos so much! They make me so happy and I feel so lucky to be their mom. There's nothing else in the world I would rather be. I know I am by no means a perfect mom but I hope they understand how much I love them and that they are the most important things to me on the world. ❤️

Coin, toilet, money and ring adventures in St. George

Luke has been really into money and coins lately. Last week his teacher Mrs. Elder told him that the 50 cent coin is the rarest coin because they don't make it anymore. Luke remembered that and told us when he got home.

When we were in St. George last weekend Cory remembered he had a few 50 cent coins in his old room down there. He found them and gave the kids each a couple. Luke was totally thrilled with his 50 cent coin and carried it around all day. He wouldn't let it out of his sight.

Later that night I was gone with my mom and aunts and cousins for my Haslam's girls trip. Cory was at Fergusons house with the kids and it was sometime after dinner and Cory thought the kids were back in his parents room playing or watching TV or something. All the sudden he heard a blood-curdling scream from Luke. Cory shot up and ran back to see what was going on, thinking someone must have gotten really hurt or something. He could hear the scream was coming from the bathroom and ran back to see the kids both standing over the toilet. Luke was screaming, Halle had her hand reached into the toilet. Halle had first of all gone potty in the toilet (#2 no less), and then to tease Luke, had taken his 50 cent coins from him and thrown them into the toilet with her poop she hadn't flushed! Of course Luke was having a come apart and when Halle saw how upset he was I'm sure she didn't want to get in trouble and hurried and reached in there to get the coins out. Cory walked in right as she was fishing her hands around in there. Since she already had started Cory had her finish the job and get the coins out of the poopy toilet. Hahaha, and, yuck!

After the coins were out and Cory had settled things down between the kids he saw that Luke was holding a 100 dollar bill. He asked Luke where he got it and he said, "Oh, just out of the basket in grandma and grandpa's closet." Which the must have had to climb to get to because it is pretty high up in there.

Then Cory noticed Halle what appeared to be one of his mom's diamond rings (it must have been on the hand she wasn't using to fish the coins out of the toilet). "Halle, where did you get that ring?" he asked.

"From the basket in grandma's closet," she answered. "This is the ring Luke asked me to marry him with."

Ahh. It all came together at that point.

Cory called me that night and relayed that story and all I could do was shake my head and say, "see what kind of stuff happens when I'm not around!"
