Draper Days

Saturday was Draper Days. We woke up and got the kids ready and headed to my mom and dad's house to watch the parade. We figured Luke would like it and of course he did. He loved catching the candy and he put it in his little wagon. But he got on a sugar high and was totally wired and was a little out of control. So i'm starting to think i'm going to have to limit his sugar intake or at least not let him eat 20 peices of taffy in one setting again!

After the parade Cory and I took him to the park to the draper days activities and left Halle to be tended with mom and dad. We took Luke on a "forsey" ride (this is how he says horsey) and he loved that. Then, we made our way over to this reptile pavillion where they had a bunch of aquariums full of different kinds of snakes and reptiles. Luke was in heaven! I was surprised but he seriously loved the snakes! So gross, he definitely doesn't get that from me. There was a pretty big snake and for a $2 donation you could hold it, so Cory did the donation and held the snake and Luke thought it was the greatest thing in the world. Cory held it (wrapped around his neck...ewwwwww!) and Luke petted it and was so happy. It was pretty funny. He was pretty upset when we had to give the snake back. Then, when we finally wanted to leave the snake/reptile pavillion Luke was so sad, he started throwing a tantrum. THe only way we could get him to settle down was to buy a Snowee and let him have some. Yes, we bribe our kids with treats :).
